It's finally time for my first map in Shootmania. Actually this one is laying around since december or even earlier, I can't remember exactly. I wasn't sure about it when I was done, because I have no idea of what a good Shootmania-map really requires since this is my first attempt. So I waited with the upload, because I wasn't sure, if I'd have forgotten anything, then stopped playing Shootmania after a while, because of my exams in January and some TM projects, especially
my duo-map with snip'thib.
I came back to the map a few days ago and was totally shocked by alle those new, fancy blocks in the shootmania editor.
I will definitely try some of them in my next map, but the only ones I could add on this one in hindsight were the lamps in the tunnels. This and the short intro are the only things I added today, the rest is already 3-4 months old. Also the intro is the only MT, which is included in the map, I kept it short, because we all wanna play in multiplayer and not watch some weird camera angles, am I right? I wasn't sure about the other MT features and if they'd even make any sense, so I left them out for now.
About the map itself: It's a battle-map. I chose to make it symmetrical, because it's the easiest way to keep it balanced for both teams, but it's mirrored on a diagonal axis, so it's not that boring. Five poles on every side, the first ones are easy to reach, some other might be harder, especially the one on the fort alike raise right in the corner.
When I designed the map I thought about how I played some battle-maps online. Most of them ended by the capture of all poles by one team. I always had more fun, when they game ended by the timeout. You that thrill until the last second and always have the chance to turn the tables till the very end.
I guess it's really hard on this map to win by capturing all poles, so in most of the games you have to protect the lead to the end. The first few poles might be captured quite fast, so both teams can earn at least some easy points and a total domination by one team is nearly not possible (at the end it's up to the players though), rather some exciting head-to-head-games are possible, when you need every little point of those poles, which are harder to reach and you have to play as a team to really get them.
Feedback is even more appreciated then ever before. Shootmania maps are hard to beta test, so I haven't done it. Furthermore I haven't build a Shootmania map before, so please tell me what I did wrong or right, what do you do or don't like. Please tell me, if tell me, if the map comes 3 months too late, because it's a total masterpiece and I should be ashamed to release it but now or if I could've waited even longer, maybe forever, because it's entirely crap.
Nothing to showcase yet, I hope I haven't forgotten anything, otherwise be prepared for even more text. Now capture some poles and shoot your opponents with light.
Bzzz!
edit: Yep, I really forgot something:

Update (March 23rd): changed the name from "FURY" to "Battle - FURY" so it's easier to find for players seaching for battle maps.
