I am a BIG fan on porting classic maps from quake 3 to new games. And since Shootmania is very close to play style as quake 3/ ut99 I decided what better a game to port them too. Atm I have run into a few issues with the given tools in the editor but f**k its beta so im sure they will improve. For now I am doing my best to port maps over keep there look and play style intact. I tested on a few maps from other games like N64's Goldeneye (
LINK) and learned a lot along the way.
So now after a little work I have finished my first port of a great old Quake 3 CTF map. Remember the space level with all the jump pads, rail gun in the middle? Well this is it. Sure it doesnt 'look' 100% the same but come on I dont have a space tile set to work with ^_^ I promise you gameplay wise it plays exactly the same. Personally the few changes I had to make due to the editors limitations actually make the map play out really well for shootmania
Give it a try. I will add all my new Quake 3 ports to this forums so keep a eye out you old quake guys ^_^
